Materials:
Metal:
More than 30 types, cast iron, cast steel, silicon iron, high alloyed metals, nickel based metals, pure metals.
Plastic:
All common plastics available, PP, PE1000 (UHMWPE), PVDF, ETFE, PFA, PTFE.
Ceramics:
Will work if nothing else does, Frikorund®, Frikotherm®, SiSiC.
Plastic Materials: Polyolefins
Polypropylen PP
economical alternative to high grade metallic materials
suitable for pumping salt solutions, dilute alkalis and acids, hydrochloric acid pickling solutions
working temperatures between 0° C (32 °F) and 100° C (212 °F)
Polyethylene PE 1000 (UHMW-PE)
ultra high molecular low pressure PE is used
temperature range between -50° C (-58°F) and 80° C (176 °F)
general resistance to corrosion
high resistance to wear
Plastic Materials: fluoro-polymers I
Polyvinylidenfluorid PVDF
excellent general corrosion resistance
high resistance to stress cracks and ability to withstand UV
temperature range between -20° C (-4° F) and 130° C (266° F)
suitable for pumping hydrofluoric acid at all concentrations up to
boiling point, liquids containing halogens, nitric/hydrofluoric acid
pickling solutions, evaporation of waste hydrofluoric acid
Not useable in caustic fluids; pH >12 !!!!
Ethylenetetrafluoroethylene ETFE
is a fluoropolymer that provides an inexpensive alternative to PFA
temperature range between -20° C (-4°F) and 150° C (302 °F),
(in special cases up to max. 170 °C (338 °F)) in aggressive and corrosive media
Plastic Materials: fluoro-polymers II
Perfluoralkoxi PFA
PFA is a perfluorated alkyvinyl ether
centrifugal pumps with PFA-lining can be used up to 180° C (374° F)
nearly universal resistance to chemicals
Polytetrafluorethylen PTFE
tradename Teflon – but not extrudeable!
shows an exceptional resistance against nearly all organic and inorganic media over a wide temperature range.
Centrifugal pumps made of PTFE can be used between -50 °C (-58 °F) and 180 °C (356 °F)
